About Us...

Feathernesters is owned by Marc Goswick and Tony Turner.

Marc, a Richmond native served in the Air Force where

he trained personnel It was while stationed in South

Dakota that Marc was exposed to the exciting world of

food service. He has managed several restaurants and has worked in the

bakery and beverage industries. Before opening Feathernesters, Marc

founded, designed the menu, cooked and managed the former Huckleberries

Tea Room on Lakeside Avenue.

An avid cook, Marc enjoys combining fresh simple, local produce and ingredients into delicious recipes handed down from his grandmother and mother.

Tony is from Winchester, VA and arrived in Richmond in 1984 to attend art school at VCU. An entrepreneur at heart, he has owned his own businesses since 1988. Tony has owned and operated an advertising agency, print shop, wholesale stationery business, wholesale giftware business, and interior design firm.

In 1997, Turner founded HomeCraft Marketplace - an artist

co-op in Richmond. The shop was renamed Huckleberries a

year later.  The former shop on Lakeside Avenue once

featured a garden shop, home and gift shop, ice cream

Parlor fudge shop, and Tea Room.

Tony hand paints most all the furniture in the store and

Designs and creates many of the one-of-a-kind decorative

items.

Both Marc and Tony were featured on a September

2005 episode of Al Roker’s “Roker On The Road”

(The Food Network) which featured their take on a true

southern classic: Sweet Buttermilk Pie. The very popular

pie is served daily in the Tea Room at Feathernesters by the slice (with real whipped cream and dusted with cinnamon - (is there any other way??), or by the whole pie. The duo have and continue to ship their famous pies all across the country!
